Simon Pegg Lending His Melodious Voice To EA's Spare Parts

by Jeff Cork on Oct 28, 2010 at 04:28 AM

EA has announced that megastar Simon Pegg will be providing his voice in the upcoming downloadable game Spare Parts. The actor, best known for his roles as Scotty in J.J. Abram's Star Trek reboot and the titular role in Shaun of the Dead, will be playing the part of Con-rad, the game's supercomputer guide.

We saw the game at EA earlier in the year (sans Pegg), and it looked like a lot of fun. It's a cartoonish co-op game with robots, with elements of Metroid's exploration and a strong sense of humor. Mar-T and Chip have to work together to escape a doomed planet after being dumped there with the garbage. Along the way they collect mechanical upgrades like rocket boots to let them access new areas.

Look for it this winter on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.
