Konami Wants To Sell A 25-Disc Suikoden Anniversary Soundtrack

by Phil Kollar on Oct 28, 2010 at 03:25 PM

Here's a question: How many video game music tracks have you heard often enough that you can hum them? 25? 50? 100? Maybe a couple hundred if you're Tim Turi? How about 650? That's the number of songs planned for Konami's gigantic 25-disc Suikoden anniversary soundtrack.

Andriasang brings word of this proposed box set. It will celebrate the series' 15-year anniversary by pulling in tracks from all five main-line Suikoden games, as well as two text adventure spin-offs (Genso Suikoden Gaiden Vol. 1 and 2), Suikoden Tactic, and last year's DS spin-off, Suikoden Tierkreis.

The package will be sold exclusively through the Konami Style store. Preorders are open until December 15, but the soundtrack set will only be released if they receive a high enough number of preorders. Assuming it does, it will be available on March 24, 2011 for 25,000 yen (a bit more than $300).

Is there a video game series with music so awesome that you'd be willing to drop $300 on a giant collection of its songs?
