Is EA's MMA Failing At Retail?

by Dan Ryckert on Oct 26, 2010 at 12:00 PM

It's been a rough fall for Electronic Arts. Medal of Honor's poor reception caused the company's stock to drop earlier this month, and NBA Elite 11 was delayed after its many bugs were exposed thanks to its demo. If industry analyst Doug Creutz is correct, the release of EA's MMA title won't do much to ease their troubles.

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Creutz said "EA's recently released MMA appears to be more or less DOA at retail, while UFC recently announced an extension of its license with THQ, likely putting an end to EA's efforts to expand into the mixed martial arts genre."

Sales numbers aren't currently available, but EA can't be happy if MMA is truly crashing and burning on store shelves.
