John Lennon's Imagine Album Coming To Rock Band 3
It looks like the relationship that Harmonix developed with Yoko Ono and the Lennon estate is paying off. Today, MTV Games revealed that the legendary Beatle's classic solo album Imagine will be added to the lineup of Rock Band 3 DLC. It will be up on the Rock Band 3 store shortly after the game launches on October 26th, along with tracks by the Doors, Billy Joel, and Bon Jovi.
"The songs on John Lennon's Imagine run the gamut from beautiful piano-driven ballads like ‘Jealous Guy’ to all-out guitar rockers like ‘Gimme Some Truth’,” said Paul DeGooyer, senior vice president of electronic games, music and programming for MTV Networks. "It's an incredible musical statement, and a real workout on keyboard, guitar and vocals in Rock Band 3. We're very excited to confirm it as one of the first downloads for our new game, and to help our fans celebrate John's 70th birthday with its release."
Obviously, this is great news for music fans, as Imagine is a classic record by any measure. And, we're sure John is chuckling somewhere that fans will be able to play his vicious Paul McCartney dis -- "How Do You Sleep?" -- in the very same franchise that immortalized the Beatles in video game form.
