Square’s X’Mas Collections Has Us Feeling Merry

We usually throw Mariah Carey’s Christmas album on repeat for the holidays, but not this year. This year Square Enix will release X’Mas Collections, a collection of the company’s most recognizable music with a Christmas remix.

It doesn’t look like Square has announced a U.S. release, but you can import the CD – which comes out in Japan on November 24 – or sample some of the album’s songs on Square’s site.

We don’t know who thought of this, but the guy (or gal) deserves a raise. We should get them working on a Valentine’s Day soundtrack next. That holiday has terrible music, and we don’t want Mariah Carey messing with it.

Thanks to Robert Kehoe for the tip.

  • Dang is it almost Christmas already?

  • Wow this year is almost over already? Sweet that means Dead Space 2 is almost out.

  • I've got two words for this. "Weird" and "Awesome".

  • OH Yeah. A must get.

  • Not a fan of stuff like this but....should this not get a U.S. release I do plan on importing it.

  • I might give it a listen
  • I was never into the FF games, so I don't know any of the tracks on there. Pretty cool though.

  • I'm a nerd, and born 3 days before Christmas (you do the math, it's basic) and as such believe this to be my Xmas gift from Square, so thank you Square for a great birthday, even if I do have to pay for it.

  • That picture is awesome. Nuff said.

  • Sounds interesting.

  • Go for it, Square. If not coming to the U.S., then us smart people here will find "alternate" means....

  • Alright this is what i'm buying for christmas! I deinatly agree that the genius that thought of this deserves a raise!

  • Love the Chocobo one (the last one on the sample list).

  • Very strange, yet very appealing as opposed to traditional Xmas music and images.

  • Not liking the 'Xmas' thing. Not cool Enix.

  • Chocobo riding music with a Christmas twang?  Awesome haha.

  • This ought to be worth listening to at least once, for the pure amusement/horror of it all.

  • two thumbs up!

  • I think companies should definitely work on marketing their fantastic videogames soundtracks more, I love listening to Super mario Galaxy or Marty O'Donnell's Halo soundtracks

  • YAHOO!!!I love Christmas.Time for another game.:)
