THQ Details WWE Fan Axxess DLC Program

by Matthew Kato on Oct 14, 2010 at 05:19 AM

THQ has announced a new online fee program for the upcoming WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 (out October 26) that would deliver DLC for the game.

Fan Axxess costs $9.99 on PSN or 800 Microsoft Points, and it confers free DLC for WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 for the life of the game. The first DLC pack contains six wrestlers, a new arena, and alternate rink gear, with future installments also promised. The DLC isn't exclusive, but with the first pack outlined above costing $7, it shouldn't be long before hardcore fans who would buy all this DLC anyway will make their money back.

This is different than THQ's $5 online program, which gives free, in-box codes for online play to users who buy the game new. Used gamers then have to pay $5 to play online with the game if they wish.

Unfortunately, this online program didn't go so smoothly for UFC Undisputed 2010, so hopefully anyone who signs up for WWE's Fan Axxess doesn't get left high and dry.
