Do You Care About The Name Behind The Game?

Most gamers know the names of the series they enjoy. From Call of Duty to Kingdom Hearts, franchises establish a following of fans that will always by the next installment based on name alone. How often do you look deeper than the title and consider the development studio behind the game?

For example, Call of Duty has passed between Infinity Ward and Treyarch for several years. Do you care who makes the game, or do you just care that it's another entry in the series? In my case, I'd play any RPG when I was younger as long as it said "Squaresoft" on the box...unaware that they were developed by many different studios and just published under the Squaresoft banner.

So, here's the topic of discussion: How much weight do you place on the development studio, particularly when compared to a franchise name or publisher?
