40 Raven Developers Hit The Job Market

by Adam Biessener on Oct 11, 2010 at 10:23 AM

Two score former employees of Singularity developer Raven Software are making an unforeseen entry into the job market due to a recent round of layoffs at the Activision-owned company.

According to Kotaku, Raven has let approximately 40 employees go as it trims down from the recently released Singularity and turns back into a one-team studio. The company had previously been as large as three teams, with Wolfenstein, Singularity, and Wolverine all under simultaneous development.

"With the recent completion of Singularity, Raven Software is realigning its workforce to better reflect the studio's upcoming slate," reads a statement released to Kotaku from Activision's corporate headquarters. The initial news of the layoffs, as well as the number of people affected and the single team left standing at Raven, are all credited to unknown sources.

Our condolences, as always, go out to the newly unemployed. "Realigning the workforce" indeed.

We've contacted Activision for comment, and will update this story with any new information.
