The Third Transformers Film Is Called...

by Andrew Reiner on Oct 07, 2010 at 06:30 AM

If you thought George Lucas' movie titles were bad, you may want to brace yourselves, people. Michael Bay's third Transformers movie is confirmed to be Transformers: The Dark of the Moon.

The movie title was discovered from listings for tie-in novels Transformers: The Dark of the Moon – Autobots Betrayed!, Transformers: The Dark of the Moon – Invasion of the Decepticons, and Transformers: The Dark of the Moon – Secrets of the Autobots.

If Activision is creating a game based on this film and if War for Cybertron's developer High Moon Studios is making it, should it be called Transformers: The Dark of the High Moon?

Associate editor Matt Miller predicts from this title that the plot will play out as such: The Autobots and humans have finally become friends on Earth, and the worst of the Decepticons have been driven off. But without anyone's knowledge, a new threat has arisen out of deep space. Left behind by Megatron to protect the broken remnants of Cybertron, Shockwave has learned of his leader's defeat on Earth and has crossed the vast masses of space to arrive on the dark side of Earth's moon. There he plans a devastating attack on human and Autobot alike – an impossibly powerful weapon that will wipe all life off of Earth. Only the Autobots and their human allies will be able to stop Shockwave by launching into space within the bowels of Omega Supreme, and defeating Shockwave once and for all in a titanic conflict on the surface of Earth's satellite moon.
