What's Happening

Former Nintendo VP Cammie Dunaway Resurfaces in Mexico

The executive formerly known as the lady who we're still not really sure why we care about has made her new employer public: A Mexican company that lets children run a "kid-sized city, complete with streets, buildings, businesses, vehicles and more." Well...that's not exactly what we were expecting when we heard she was leaving Nintendo.

The jokes write themselves on this one. We're not sure what more we can add without running the risk of seeming insulting to children or personally nasty to Dunaway herself, so we'll just leave it at that.

Now can we please stop infusing Nintendo's marketing executives with vapid Internet celebrity just because they give awkward speeches to bored journalists once a year?

  • That seems like a company for which a person like her would be well-suited. Video games, however.... not so much.
  • ummmm. wtf???

  • I always enjoy reading the tags these articles are filed under.

I can't say I blame Nintendo, I too would have done away with her.

  • the speeches that journalist hear seem alot like school.  they even have cool teachers, people like cliffy b

  • I like how one of the tags is "zzzzzzz"

  • I thought that kid sized city was a video game for a second but now that i know it's not, ummm... I'm just shocked.

  • The tags always make me lol

She's like the incredibly lame version of Kenny Powers.

  • Wait a town run by children; does Bonertropolis actually exist?!

  • Does anyone but me think she looks kinda hot in that photo?? You know in that weird pta/soccer mom sorta way?

  • LOL.  Well, hopefully, she is happy with her new job.

  • Well I'm pretty sure that I don't care about her...

  • This is the second article filed under "zzzzzzzzz," after the Bungie article. What else do you guys think is boring?

  • Why would you quit Nintendo?

  • I'm not a journalism major or anything like that, but I'm fairly certain this could be one of the worst articles I've ever read

"...known as the lady who we're still not really sure why we care about..."

I think that about sums it up.

  • Really you would leave Nintendo to do this seriously WTF?

  • Why bother posting this if you don't find it interesting or newsworthy yourselves GIO? Are we going to be more interested in what this "vapid internet celebrity" has to say or is doing?

Why even put in the line about stopping the creation of fake celebrity? The  only place I've read about this woman is in GIO, so that seems like a jab at your own selection process for what is and is not news. If you have that much confidence in the worthlessness of your own works, what are the readers to think?

  • Wow this is the dumbest thing i've heard all week.

  • what is up with those purple specs? It is 1980 again? And, as an aside, The US, India, and Europe must be on the bleeding edge of web design because any foreign site I go to via a link, is in iFrames Flash and or Swish. (the hell?)

Well, I'll say this much, every company she works for, sees a sharp decline in sales - yahoo went to hell, Frito-Lay sank until the got rid of her, and nintendo got wobbly with the Wii here at the end...
