Watch World Cyber Games Matches Now For Free

by Jeff Cork on Oct 02, 2010 at 11:56 AM

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm kind of fascinated with watching other people play video games. Going to a tournament is too much of a hassle though, so this is a thirst that ordinarily goes unquenched. But no longer!

The World Cyber Games are going on right now at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and you can check out the goings on from the safety and comfort of you own home. Today's games are drawing to a close, but they've got a full lineup of matches from 9 a.m. Pacific through 5 p.m. tomorrow. After downloading their goofy player, you can watch it all on your browser. Counter-Strike! StarCraft! WarCraft 3! FIFA '10...? And my personal favorite, Closing Ceremony!

Each match has color commentary provided by people who presumably know what they're talking about, which makes it fun even if you don't know the first thing about a particular game. Then again, maybe I just have an odd sense of what constitutes fun.
