The lights are on
Halo has been an inspiration to us all, whether it’s inspired us to haul the original Xbox to friends’ houses for some LAN action, inspired us to read a bunch of dumb novels based on its dumb story, or inspired us to tear our headsets off in an impotent rage. It’s also inspired some folks to translate some of its vehicles into LEGO approximations.[Exceprt]Flikr user Legoboy Productions has posted some shots of his Wraith, and it definitely deserves a look. It’s a pretty faithful representation of the game’s vehicle, made all the more impressive when you consider the limitations inherent within LEGO blocks. As Legoboy Productions notes, the photos were taken using a Canon EOS 5D Mark II. That is apparently some kind of camera. Anyway, Wraith!
Email the author Jeff Cork, or follow on Twitter, Google+, Facebook, and Game Informer.
Wow, that's actually pretty cool. But "dumb novels based on its dumb story"? Looks like Jeff is looking to get no-scoped by some harsh words.
I would buy a lego halo set or lego halo the video game.
This would be more impressive if there wasn't all ready Halo sets for Lego's competitor Mega Blocks. You can build everything from Ghosts to Scarabs. Still, points for coming up with it himself.
I was an avid lego builder as a kid and I having just played Halo Reach co-op till 5am this morning with a friend I can say this Wraith is very nice! Good Job Legoboy.
Very nice job on the lego Wraith looks really cool, though I went to Superplay USA and one of the prizes was a Halo Lego set, though this is cool and well thought out.
Very cool... I'm still not convinced that a LEGO Hunter is worth $22, though.
I remember asking my dad why they didn't have halo legos when i was about 8. My loyalty now lies with megabloks for granting my wish.
Wow, wonder how long that took.
Nice. Guy did a good job.
Pretty cool, and for all those non creative types out there, there has been a series of Lego type models released at the same time as Reach. I believe I saw at least 3 different kinds at Wal-Mart.
That one isn't as cool as other Lego stuff I've seen.
Legos are an effigy of everything these days.
Very nice. The first Halo really made me hate Wraiths. Halo 2 and 3 made them more attractive since I could hijack them.
Goodness jeff! Is that your true opinion on the halo books and story? If so than i shall do unforgivable things in an uncontrollable rage dedicated to the "I greatly dislike Jeff Cork convention." But i love legos and i love halo so i love this picture.
Too bad it doesn't have little mini Brutes in it.
it's alright i guess.
I won't waste my time trying to convince you guys, yet again, that you're being more than a little ridiculous with your Halo bashing campaign, but this does serve as further proof. The GI staff is certainly entitled to their opinions, but is it necessary to constantly remind us of it, even when it bares no relevance to the article? I mean really, the fact that you think Halo's story is crap, and the novels are stupid, has nothing to do with a Lego Wraith.
I suppose at this point, you guys might think this is somehow hilarious, and you're now just out trolling. Either way, is going out of your way to alienate, and anger Halo fans -- who likely make up at least half of your audience -- really a sound business move? I guess no one ever accused journalists of being business experts.
PS: Is anyone even working on the Firefox login problem?
That. Is. AWESOME. I want one.
