Treyarch has been an easy target over the years for taking on the unenviable task of tag-teaming Call of Duty with industry darlings Infinity Ward. As Black Ops is showing, they're not exactly content with phoning in yet another sequel. This latest video from Activision shows what the team has been working on in multiplayer customization.

As players earn in-game currency, they can spend it on a dizzying variety of unlockables, including camo patterns, perks, and more. Creative types have much more freedom to express themselves in Black Ops than in most FPS games, too.

i hate when they make a stupid shooter game and named it call of duty, why not other name, i think this game is going to be weak, yeah you can customize a lot o things but the gameplay is what matters.

I think this is a great batch of features they have lined up for Black Ops. I'm by no means a CoD fanboy. The only reason I played MW2 was because I got a free copy of the game. With that being said I can't deny that I played the multiplayer until I reached the 6th prestige, but at this point I need something else. And so far everything that I have seen about Black Ops has made we want to trade in my copy of MW2 and never look back.

*Sigh* The game uses pro perks... The perks system in 4/WaW was the best one and allowed for most custominization.

I still wonder why isnt there any recoil ? And what engine are they using for this game ,World at War or MW2 ?(looks like World at War ,but i am not sure)

Treyarch is great at what they do. World at War was good. Black Ops will be better. And the customization trailer is getting me excited to play online!
