New Move Ad Kills A Mii

In anticipation of the Move's release tomorrow, Sony has thrown down the gauntlet and challenged a Mii to a duel. Of course, since this is a commercial for Move, it's not hard to guess who wins.

Where's Kevin Butler? Nowhere to be found. Instead, the new spot features a member of a key demographic walking along, pursued by an oversized Mii. Then he finds a Move controller and, like, punches the Mii to death or something.

I'm all for console manufacturers taking pot shots at each other, but this commercial makes me want a refreshing sports drink more than a Move.

You can waste your time watching the commercial below.

  • Yea i can see where your coming from with the thirst

  • Hahaha wow, Sony, stick to Butler. He was hilarious. This commercial made me laugh too, but only at how stupid it was.

EDIT: Apparently this isn't made or endorsed by Sony. Thank God haha.
  • So the Wii is oppressing gamers and Move is the liberator? Or something? I agree... lame commercial.

  • Dear Sony:

I would like 1 minute of my time back.

    0:47 for watching this ad.

    0:07 for damages.

0:06 for the lack of oxygen that went to my brain, as I found myself holding my breath too confused to even breath.

  • I thought it was made by someone else FOR Sony but they didn't directly have a hand in it.

  • Doesn't make me want to buy a Move at all. In fact, now I'm more sympathetic to Nintendo and wish to give them more money instead of you, Sony. Your commercial has created the polar opposite effect of desire for your product in me, someone in the late 20's - early 30's male demographic. Sony, you should consider stabbing the marketing firm that made this to death with a knife.
  • I feel like it's not very obvious that that's a Mii. Johnny Q Gamer isn't gonna get it.

  • So...  were we, like, supposed to think that was cool? 'Cause it was pretty dumb...

  • I am... thirsty for some gatorade right about now.

  • Wow, they aren't even trying to hide the fact that the Move is just a Wii ripoff cash in.

  • Now instead of a Mii, they added him switching scenarios, from a shooter, to a fighter, and then added the transition to the Move logo, it would be beast

  • eh, sorry sony, i'm just not feeling it. i saw either keep it classy and simple, or use kevin butler. maybe just use kevin butler

  • Real nice GI this isn't even Sony made... Look at the channel. Great way to give Sony haters a reason to hate.

  • I don't get it, the move lets you kil rabid miis, or what? Earnestly, you have to admit when it comes to crappy avatars, Miis are the lesser of three evils.

  • lol @ Joe he got tricked by a fake commercial.

  • wow thats not quite fake baby crying bad, but this is pretty terrible

  • Actualy I'm pretty sure that was an avatar

  • lolz, I thought sony learned this lesson already, ambiguous weird commercials dont sell stuff, it just makes people say wtf

  • This really reminded me of the creepy baby doll commercial from the PS3's launch. Kinda creepy in an antisocial schizophrenic sort of way.

  • Well at least he killed that scary giant Mii.
