Microsoft Announces 250GB 360 Kinect Bundle

Microsoft's Gamerscore Blog revealed yet another Kinect retail bundle that will be available in stores on November 4th when the much-anticipated motion control camera unit launches. The bundle includes a glossy black Xbox 360 slim console with a removable 250GB hard drive, a Kinect sensor bar, and the title Kinect Sports. The pack retails for $399.99. The Kinect will also be available separately for $150 and bundles with a flash memory 4GB Xbox 360 for $300.

The Microsoft announcement also teases some big Kinect announcements for TGS. The statement reads: "Kinect for Xbox 360 will take to the global stage once again at the Tokyo Game Show next week to reveal even more new controller-free games and experiences never before possible."

Should be an exciting week in Japan! Stay tuned to Gameinformer.com for live updates from the show.

  • That seems awfully expensive.

  • *** that!

  • I planned on trading in my old 360 for a 360 S and I want Kinect, so this will be the SKU I will get.

  • rather get a PS3

Stuff that's not first party shovelware? :D

  • Well, a $50 savings seems like a good deal. I wonder what's brewing that will be shown at TGS this year.

  • "when the much-anticipated motion control camera unit launches"

Uh, hate to break it to you GameInformer, but Kinect is very, very far from "much-anticipated". The same goes for Move. They will both probably have a small sales spike at launch from the curious gamers, but no self respecting core gamer is going to buy either of them.

Public opinion and anticipation is very low. Hence the dozens of stats proving that online.

  • This seems a lot to pay for something that has been generally perceived by people who've played it as not being finished yet. All I've heard about the Kinect so far is that it's inaccurate and seems like it is being rushed out the door. According to Kotaku's podcast they've been told at convention after convention that it still doesn't have a final software build yet and Microsoft is still using the "E3 build" at this point. It's getting awful close to launch for there to not be finished software. Honestly, why would I spend my money on something that isn't finished? Especially when it's the same price as the PS3 Move bundle and Move is getting pretty good reviews across the board.

  • Well its time to jump ship, as a hardcore fanboy of the Xbox i cannot see how i can defend this super expensive piece of crap.

God *** it...i know im gonna buy it, but seriously somewhere in me, i feel like the Move is a way better platform form for a hardcore gamer.

Oh well atleast i still my 2 GTX 480's!!

    PCs FTW!!!

  • ok im super excited for kinect but wont buy any bundle like this cuz i already have xbox 360 slim. And DONT DIS KINECT UNTIL YOU HAVE TRIED IT!!!!!!!!

I live in denver and they had the kinect demo tour here, i went to it, played the *** out of Dance Central. AWESOME GAME!! Also played kinect sports and kinect adventures. all were really fun too. im  a hardcore gamer, and im totally getting kinect for the dance central and the cool stuff u can do with the xbox 360 dash board. its called an all new lazyness cuz u can talk to it and it will do wat u say. FING AWESOME!!!!

  • its about time!!! 4GB isnt worth anything!

  • $150 eh

  • Awesome and as for the show, think they might show Adrenaline Misfits? lol

  • Expensive, are you guys nuts? That's $50 cheaper than buying both the console and Kinect separately.

Now, if only I had hope that Kinect would even be worthwhile before next Christmas... (*braces for a slew of mandatory updates over the first 6 months, possibly system crashes/failures, or even a recall two months in*)
  • Yay...

    ...YET ANOTHER SKU.

Anyone long for the "good old days" (read: only about a year ago) when the console wars argument always entailed bashing each console based on the number of retail SKUs they had?

Also: Still not seeing any appeal in Kinect whatsoever.

  • Won't get the bundle but will pick up both motion controls for PS3 and 360. I'll have to say that I'm a lot more excited about the Move right now. I'm sure my family and I will play the crap out of Dance Central but Move has a decent line up. I love how the same people that were bashing the PS3 at launch because of the lack of good titles are now defending Kinect.
  • That's how much I paid for my Xbox 360 four years ago. That's a lot more, for the same price. But does it come with any regular controllers? I don't think so, but not sure.

  • I knew it was coming... wish my stupid friend could had his birthday a few months later so I didn't have to sell him my Elite when I did x.x

  • Thats not to bad for a 250GB with kinnect. Although I still think kinnects fail. Maybe not. Will have to wait till tgs.

  • I still have an EyeToy somewhere. Gonna stick with good ol' fashioned plastic controllers until VR technology is available to the masses.
