The lights are on
If one title in the history of the industry specifically targets the nostalgia cortex of gamer's brains, it's Super Mario Bros. 3. It featured far more gameplay variety than the original SMB, and was more of a traditional Mario game than the polarizing North American sequel. It would be a shoo-in for the title of "best 2D Mario" if it weren't for the amazing Super Mario World (a debate we get into during this Super Replay). It's one of the few titles that can stir up fond memories for hardcore gamers and non-gamers alike. It didn't matter if you were a Nintendo nerd, captain of the football team, theater geek, or a cheerleader...you probably played and loved this game.
Most of us played this game two decades ago, but I wanted to see just how well the gameplay holds up in 2010. Join myself and several other GI staffers as we work our way through all eight worlds of Super Mario Bros. 3. No warp whistles!

This is such a good idea for Super Replay! I wonder how long World 8's gonna take to clear? It always takes me forever.
Dan said 1990. Reiner is the dumb one.
Ahh I knew this was coming.
Did anyone see the video of some Japanese guy beating this game in 11 minutes? Here's the link:

hmmm good memories form this old fun game big world is always a favorite
You should have a challenge for each replay, and the loser must make the winner a sandwich and you should record the whole process so that we can see it lol
Way to go Reiner. You wasted the cloud. You failed the Super Replay on its first day. I hope you're proud of yourself.
j/k, awesome start guys.
you have to chase the airship
Great Super Replay guys, Reiner totally blew it with the cloud. Dan is clearly the winner this time around. lol
Are you guy's gonna do the Claire run-through later, or was there not enough interest?
When Reiner did well, it was the most impressive. I think that Dan had the more consistent level of decent play, though.
the first warp whistle isnt in the castle its in level 3 of world 1
I can't blame him for the concentration card, I used to and still do that ALL the time. I blank out completely. Nicely replayed though! Hated that big fish so much. I used a P-wing for it too.
i bought this for wii ware a few months ago but i cant get past world 7
