The lights are on
It's really real. Duke Nukem Forever is being published by 2K Games and developed by Gearbox. Here are our first hand impressions.
Here are some quick notes notes on the game, courtesy of Andrew Reiner's time with the PAX demo:
Here's a blurry picture of the demo room. You can see that the game is running on the Xbox 360:

Pitchford told us that Gearbox started working on the game a year ago and that the company owns the IP. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as we can. Man, Duke Nukem Forever is actually coming out in 2011. Who would've thought?

Hell has officially frozen over.
its time to kick ass and chew bubble gum... but i'm all out of gum.
Bout time. Game looks great. heck I still play the game on my pc.
DUKE IS KING
Well hot dog. This is amazing.
I don't believe it. It's finally coming out. But, when this comes out, what game will we gamers use as an inside joke?
I just hope this doesn't stop Colonial Marines and Borderlands 2 from coming out.
This game actually sounds really fun. I'd buy it.
I smell something... ***
Yknow at first I didnt think Duke Nukem's attitude and style really had much of any place in the modern world, but Gearbox seems to realize this and are willing to play with it a bit to make it fun and not just pure cheese. Shoulda figured though, they know their stuff. They'll make it turn out okay.
the image gallery for this article should be in some kind of GI hall of fame
I DON'T HAVE TIME TO PLAY WITH MYSELF!!!!
Holy hell. I can't believe it. I had to check the date real quick to make sure this wasn't an incredibly elaborate April Fools joke, but thankfully(?) it's September. This is going to be awesome. I love Gearbox. Please let this be as epic as I think it is.
I just saw a video on MSN about an Australian woman putting her dead baby to her chest for 2 hours and came back to life because of the mother's warmth. Now Duke Nukem Forever is coming out? Today's full of miracles!
Am I the only one who's actually not excited for this? I'll be honest here, plots to a game pre-2000s were for the most part paper thin, and this sounds like it belongs back in that era.
Nothing here sounds unique, original, or interesting. At all. Can someone give me a reason to want this game? I'm not about to buy just a really polished FPS, there are far too many games in that genre that have more going for it than tight controls.
I read somewhere that it was running off PC with a 360 controller.
