The lights are on
The death of Aeris -- or is it Aerith these days? -- in Final Fantasy VII is one of the most memorable moments in gaming history. Fanboys shed a tear once Sephiroth's Masamune sword impaled the lowly flower girl. Throughout the years, artists have applied their personal touch to Aerith's shocking goodbye. Below is a collection of this artwork. After viewing this gallery, check out the artists' personal pages for more amazing pieces.

Going back to this scene, I realized how badly done it really way.
About 10 frames per second, typos abound and what could be a dramatic, memorable moment is followed by gameplay.
Only the beginning few are good but the rest are just funny. Clay version takes the cake for the funniest one.
Final Fantasy 7 is wayyyy overrated. The only thing I cared about when she died was weather I would get my equipment attached to her back, I did.
destiny fall and db kun are the sickest ones definately and the clay one is pretty funny
number 2, page 1
the only pic worth my time really
the others were to funny lol either that or they were filled with gay cosplayers 0.0 i hate cosplay...
It's spelled Aeris. If you played FF7 when it came out, it was clearly Aeris. Where did Aerith even come from. The first place I saw it was Kingdom Hearts and, for some reason, Squall was named Leon in that.
The day I played that scene was the day my childhood died. It was the saddest damned thing ever for a young boy and I still hate Sephiroth to this day.
Interesting, it was a very touching moment...i'm not surprised so many people decided to re-create it. Cool.
haha nice claymation.
LOL at the 3rd one.
WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO REVIST THIS!!!
i was freakin out when that happened he just kinda came down stabbed her and left and i was like wtf
The one by DestinyFall is the best of the lot in my opinion... definitely captured the feeling at the moment
I like the first two on page 1 as well as the one on page 2 by DB_Kun. Those pieces seem to among the best artistically and convey a sense of the weight and emotion to the scene. I will admit though that I didn't particularly care about Aeris' death because I found out she was going to die before I got that far in the game so I didn't use her much.
The one with actual people was funny. You can clearly see that the swordsman's sword's shadow is nowhere near the person playing as Aerith.
I love that last one.
The the expression the clay Sephiroth's face.
I'm pretty sure 4chan inspired some of these drawings.
Wow it wasn't that intense.
