Final Fantasy XIV Development For 360 Paused, Not Cancelled

In an interview with VG247, Final Fantasy XIV producer Hiromichi Tanaka says that Xbox Live policies have paused production of Final Fantasy XIV on Xbox 360, not cancelled it. “We’re still talking with Microsoft at the moment so there is no update as to when we’ll start again,” the producer said.

Earlier reports had Tanaka saying the MMO had been canceled altogether, but it looks like there still may be hope for fans.

That is very intresting, but I actually still don't see it happening. If it does though, I MIGHT consider checking it out.

I don't think it will happen. I don't see Microsoft changing the way they operate just for one game, even if it's FF.

Who cares for paying monthly to play.. Why can't an MMO just be free for true entertainment and if you want to buy weapons/outfits/transportation/spells ect you pay. Why can't that work?

I really hope Microsoft makes another exception; they did it once for FF XI and it would be awesome if they did it again. I don't have a computer that will be dope enough to run this game, and Xbox Live's infrastructure would be really conducive to a game like this.

For those that don't know they already made an exception for FFXI and it can be played on there just like it can on the PC for the same price so I don't see why they wouldn't make the same exception for FFXIV...

Final Fantasy 13 sold so poorly on the xbox that Square should think about it. They should cancel it. The Final Fantasy fan base in on the Playstation.
