The lights are on
We all know that The Force Unleashed 2 is coming out in a few months, but did you know that The Force Unleashed 3 was in the works? The important word there is "was," because if the rumors are true, the project has been canceled before it was even revealed. According to Kotaku, the project was axed by new LucasArts president Paul Meegan, along with another unannounced title. This follows the departure of Haden Blackman, the former executive producer on the title. Apparently, even more members of the Force Unleashed team are going lose their jobs once TFU 2 ships. If things are looking bad for internal development at LucasArts, it's nothing compared to external development; Meegan is also allegedly putting a stop to external studios working on LucasArts' properties. This would mean that after BioWare's MMO The Old Republic, we wouldn't see any more KOTOR titles, nor additional LEGO games made by Traveller's Tales. We can only hope that these decisions make some kind of sound financial sense on paper, because from where we stand, these rumors don't point to a successful or healthy game developer.

Does this mean we might not get a Battlefront 3?
What the ***. I was excited for Unleashed 2 partially on the grounds knowing that there would at least be another sequel to follow that would round out the story (the mini-trilogy between the two Star Wars trilogies, if you will).
This *** SUCKS.
This guy is evil!
Haha, I can just sense the hate this man will receive already. Of course, few people will actually wait to see if there is a method to his alleged madness. Business is business, and if LucasArts is struggling financially, and they can't support more TFU titles than it makes sense to ax them.
i hope there not true, casue i really like TFU,and i cant wait for TFU2,so they better not cancel the third one, which doesnt really exist or maybe it does?
I'm interested in TFU2, but don't have high hopes.
I have no clue where they are going with this game, & idk if they are being intentionally cryptic (in a similar fashion to Alan Wake's pre-release marketing) or that this game is just plain bizarre, meaning it fits nowhere in the Star Wars canon.
If the later winds up being the case, then good they cancelled TFU3, because Lucas acknowledged TFU as official Star Wars canon, and this new one seems far from that.
Lego Star Wars isn't much of a loss either because, that's practically been exhausted completely.
The only huge losses here would be any future Star Wars: Battlefronts or Knights of the Old Republics.
Burn him at the stake!
If these rumors are true, it sounds like bad news for fans of Star Wars titles.
Highlighting one example specifically, though, what might this mean for The Old Republic? Sure, we'll still get the initial game, but what about content updates? Future patches? Expansions? If these rumors are true, do fans of the Star Wars universe have reason to worry about The Old Republic's future after its initial release?
I would like to think that this is because of SWTOR. I certainly think it would be good business to focus on that and not divide my own pool of fans.
Tyrants of the gaming industry folks. TYRANTS!!
If both internal and external development is being winded down at LucasArts, what does that mean for the future of Star Wars video games? Will there be ANY?
I'm going to take a wait and see approach. I personally like the games, but sometimes there is a method behind the madness. I'm not going to compare him to Kotick just yet... I hope we don't end up having another one like him on our hands.
But I need Battlefront 3 still!!
Battlefront 3... All hope is lost... :(
thats so stupid and wait to see if the second does well or not
but...but...why? :'( not even battlefront III!?
