Test Drive Unlimited 2 Delayed

by Matthew Kato on Aug 12, 2010 at 05:30 AM

Test Drive Unlimited 2 was one of the unsung racing games at E3 (check out our thoughts on the matter), but that doesn't mean the game doesn't have some impressive features. Unfortunately, gamers are going to have to wait a little while longer to get their hands on it as it's been delayed until next year.

David Nadal, the studio manager at TDU 2 developer Eden Games, talked about the game's European delay into the beginning of next year. "By moving the title's release date to early 2011," he explained, "we will be able to further advance the game and take into account consumer feedback to help ensure we deliver a great online lifestyle racing experience." Although Nadal was specifically referring to the European release, we've no doubt that American gamers won't see the game before the continent does.

Nadal's mention of the online experience is key, as the game lets you connect and race with friends in the world at anytime – as well create their own online races on the fly.

If anything, this delay is probably a good thing, not only so Eden can make the game airtight, but so that Test Drive Unlimited 2 doesn't have to fight with the likes of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit or Gran Turismo 5 this year.

Until then, check out our screens below and a video of the hot Aston Martin in the game.
