The lights are on
Pressing a button and having a console simply start up isn't an option these days. Device functions must be punctuated with an awesome sound effect that sounds like it's ripped straight from Star Trek. The new Xbox 360 Elite S system makes neat little 'ding' sounds when you turn it on or open the disc tray, and now you can download them for free for your phone.
Hop over to the blog of Xbox Live's Major Nelson and get to downloading. The sounds are available in iPhone format or MP3.
Email the author Tim Turi, or follow on Twitter, and Game Informer.
WTF. I just want to play, that's all. *** the sounds!
If this console doesn't have RROD, then I will get this as time goes on.
I second the Why?
Have not heard this 'ding' but i bet the Reach shield recharge noise or whatever Halo noise it makes will be better
y would ppl get tht in thre phones
Where's the option to download the sounds my phone makes to my 360 S?
I guess free is good?
And yet another thing the Xbox S stole from the PS3
It's not that fascinating of a sound. It's great to hear that the console is reacting to the user's input, and but other than that there's nothing groundbreaking about it.
ive been a gamer since i shot my first duck and collected my first coin...and who is supposed to care about this?
WHOA!!! IT MAKES A "DING" SOUND!!! I HAVE TO GET THAT FOR MY PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I care.....why????
Yea, I mentioned the inevitability of this about 3 seconds after I found out the S had sounds.
the better question is how come Microsoft isn't making you pay for it?
This is really stupid...
Ive had the achievement sound as my text ringtone, and the Xbox power up sound for my emails for months now!
