Replay: Revolution X

1994's Revolution X was a collection of 90s cliches stuffed into one bowling alley-ready arcade machine (or in this case, Playstation). You had cheesy digitized graphics, bikini-clad babes straight out of Cruisin' USA, and way more Aerosmith than anyone wanted to hear (keep in mind, they were a couple of decades out of their prime at this point). Join Andrew Reiner, Tim Turi, Matt Helgeson, and myself as we play through this hilariously ill-fated crossover of video games and music.

Be sure to stick around for a Replay Roulette title that utterly defeats us.

  • This used to be so amazing to play at the arcade when I was younger. A lot of arcades have just fallen by the wayside now. Too much standing for modern America.
  • funniest replay to date...Overblood just looks like a total waste of money...I demand Syphon Filter otherwise I shall do some stuff that's evil but in a totally good guy kind of way...
  • Excellent replay!

You should do Whiplash for the PS2/Xbox next. If you thought Kratos kicking dogs in GOW was enough to upset PETA, you haven't seen Whiplash.

  • I think that was the funniest thing I have ever seen. Skating in sand?! REALLY? There really need to be more quality games like Over Blood out there.

  • Great replay! My favorite part was the sassy gattling gun. That first game actually didn't look that bad, but Overblood looks terrible. Those games are easier on the computer because you can just click on everything until something happens.

  • I remember playing this game growing up.  Sooooo much fun.  I never beat it but I remember getting reall far.

  • Ah, I know who the sphinx is!!!

It's John Kalodner. He was an A&R executive who worked for companies like Columbia (which was the label Aerosmith went to in the 90s). He's usually credited as [John Kalodner:John Kalodner] in various albums.

    Here's his picture....

  • Another great replay! I also like how "aging muppet-faced rockers" is a tag for the video ha.

  • ... Ho... Ly... Crap. Hilarious and wrong at the same time. Great Replay guys!

... And you should do a Super Replay of Overblood...

Edit: Yay, I started an OverBlood Super Replay request trend! I'ma trend setter! :D
  • This was  probably the funniest replay yet. All of you are just extremely funny. Keep on making more like these!

Please do a Super Replay for the original Halo!

  • Oh my God.

    "Shtop thuh New Ordah Bus!"

Why do I still have so many memories of this game. You'd think SOMETHING would've pushed them out by now. Also, $20 to the first person who cosplays the General Zod-looking guy from OverBlood.
  • The way too long vehicle segments remind me of another game that had that which I didn't like : Half-Life 2, that game is soo boring. I was on my jetboat for like 20 minutes and hated every mintute of it.

  • lol this replay was too funny. I actually have revolution x for the super. I remember playing it and was like ok but then I couldnt beat one part and just threw it aside and went to play super mario world again

  • Wow at Overblood. Super Replay please.

  • Oh boy, this was a good one. MOAR.

  • OverBlood may be one of the most hilarious Replay Roulettes ever.

Also, the on-rails Aerosmith game? That was awful. Sassy gatling guns, nutcracker Sphinxes... so much wrong. Also completely hilarious.
  • Haha, I love Aerosmith, but this game is just sad. At least you showed Overblood after it. That made it look a LITTLE better.

  • This Replay was so full of win. I haven't laughed so hard during a Replay since the Superman and Mortal Kombat ones from awhile ago. Oh man this one is a Replay to remember.

  • Replay: awesome

    Revolution x: horrible

    Overblood: even worse

  • Man those games looked rough.Did you go any farther on Overblood after you ended or has it been put away? That puzzle solving was just amazingly painful to watch.
