Irrational Teases Project Icarus With Viral Website

Yesterday we reported on a save-the-date card that arrived at the Game Informer office from Irrational Games inviting members of the gaming press to a New York event on August 11. What will actually take place at the event is anyone's guess, but if a rare invite from Irrational is any indication, our guess is it will be some sort of game announcement. To further pique our interest, Irrational may now be teasing us with what appears to be a viral website with a name similar to the team's current project, "Project Icarus."

WhatIsIcarus.com has a URL reflective of what's on everyone's minds right now. There isn't a whole lot to the site as of now, but we're fairly certain the website will develop as we approach the August 11 event. In the meantime keep an eye on their site for more details. Hopefully we'll get more than just a speck soon. What is Icarus?!?!?!

They really have me clueless at this point and have me obviously asking, "What in the hell is Icarus?!" anybodies guess is as good as the next person.

Irrational is being so avant-garde about this, it makes Project Icarus that more mysterious and exciting, and I love it. I just hope it all pays off in the end, lol.

I think it's in space, with man extending his reach to far, and having all of civilization be destroyed. There. That is Project Icarus... Or maybe it has nothing to do with Icarus and his wing. Didn't Irrational say that they might be reaching to far for this game, and that due to that the project might crash and burn?
