Capcom Announces Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition

It’s been a great couple years for fighting game fans, and it seems to only be getting better.  At Capcom’s Street Fighter IV and Beyond panel, producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that the company was working on Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition.

Ono admitted that the team has just started working on bringing the original arcade title over to the new generation of consoles, but Street Fighter III fans can look forward to playing this game online soon.

  • Ohhhh yeah! I loved this game as a kid, but of course I had no clue how to properly play any of the characters (I'm pretty sure all I knew was Hadouken, and beyond that I just mashed buttons). This game had such a cool variety of characters, too. Sign me up for this remake!
  • Well, it doesn't look like I need GGPO to play SFIII:3S to play people online. Lets just hope it runs on GGPO's netcode though.

  • i don't really know what to expect from this. they went from SFIV to Super SFIV to MvC3 to SF3? i never played this one. is it any good?

  • My absolute favorite Street Fighter. I can't wait.

  • Well.... I'm excited..

  • Never played 3rd Strike, so I'm excited.

  • Didn't play this one. Ready for the release of it

  • Oh fighting games. How you've come back from the brink of death. First SFIV then SSFIV and after that the announcements of Street Fighter X Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and MvC3 FTW. They should make a movie about your inspiring true story.

  • I never got into this one, but I know it's pretty popular. I played it a few times and came away thinking that Street Fighter II was better (probably why I liked Street Fighter IV a lot.)

  • Thank You!!!

  • I doubt I'll get this, I suck at Street Fighter 4.
