The lights are on
Back when Enter the Matrix was announced, it was a potential revolution -- a movie-based game that actually had most of the talent from the movie, including the writers/directors, fully involved. How did it turn out? On this week's episode of Replay, Joe Juba, Tim Turi, Andrew Reiner, and I dig it out of the vault to find out.
Watch the video below to hear Reiner's reasoning behind the rather high score he gave the game, listen to discussion of Miller's love of the Matrix universe, and see two cars stand up and fight like men. If you're well-behaved (and patient), you might even get blessed with a snippet of song from Tim.
Those difficult parts=the sewer levels. The flimsy movement controls always lead to a perilous fall into the dark abyss. But, this game was one of my favorites for the original Xbox, especially the "Hacking" mode.
hahaha wow...When I saw the Starsky and Hutch game, I almost flipped. I remember i bought it when it came out because i thought it would be a really cool GTA like game...I was wrong, and yes almost all the missions are like that!! I dont know how i beat it. lol
An awesome Replay, as usual.
How about hitting up an old PS1 classic, "Alundra" for the next Roulette? That, or Soul Reaver 1 or 2 would be awesome.
nice replay i remember the path of neo game being decent i think but then again i was probably 12 when that came out so i could play games that were crappy easier. So when is the new super replay? uggestion for game would be chrono trigger or castelvania sotn
Awesome Replay, as per usual.
You guys should either do Jet Force Gemini or Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath next week.
either you guys suck at enter the matrix, or i just had god-like skills on that game.
That's the stupidest run animation I've ever seen!
I loved this game!
I own this game on PC had tons of fun playing it back in the day. Watching you guys play it on Replay, I want to dig out my copy and jack in to The Matrix again to see if it holds up for me still
Do a Super Replay of Half-Life 2!
i wonder if this game is backwards compatible
i remember playing through all of starsky and hutch in co-op it's not half bad
do one on halo
I had this game. It wasn't the greatest ever but it was pretty fun to play. Especially if you put in the codes for unlimited ammo and infinite focus so you could use your matrix abilities constantly.
I actually enjoyed Castlevania 64. : )
Enter the Matrix was fun back then, but I agree it was enhanced by it's license. Also, Reloaded was good, with some of the coolest action sequences of any movie ever. Revolutions, on the other hand, was way too convoluted and the savior/martyr archetype is a bit tired (it was already old-hat when the Bible was written..lol).
I bought both of these games for my son when they came out, never played them but now i want to play the matrix game just for the police man car hand to hand combat lol! S&H was horrible but my son loved it I think he pretended it was GTA III or something which I wouldnt let him play (he was only 12 at the time) great replay
and by the way where exactly is the server for this site located that it is 6 hours ahead of me? Africa? Western Europe? im in central time zone america it is 3:40 pm on sunday july 18 at the time of this posting?
And wasn't Will Smith the original consideration for the part of Neo before he turned it down? Ooooooooooh, full circle.
Reminds me of that other Matrix game they did, Path of Neo. That one was genuinely entertaining for me. Plus it had, hands down, the most hilarious and unexpected final boss in ever. You wouldn't expect The Matrix to be the type of fiction that would stoop to breaking the fourth wall for laughs.
