The lights are on
It looks like the second season of 1 vs. 100 on Xbox Live was also its last. Microsoft confirmed that the massively multiplayer game show won’t be returning for a third season. According to a statement from Microsoft to Kotaku, the show is officially over."When we started on this journey, we knew we were creating an entirely new genre of entertainment that would be a continually evolving concept," Dave McCarthy, General Manager of Microsoft Game Studios told the site. "We're very proud of the ‘1 vs 100' team and their accomplishments, and are excited to apply what we've learned to future programming."That’s a shame. The show was a lot of fun to play, and it showed that scheduled live interactive entertainment was possible on a game console. Let’s hope that Microsoft makes good on its plans to apply the tech to future projects – especially if we can score free Microsoft Points and other prizes from them.

This sucks, 1 vs. 100 was possibly one of my favorite things about being on live when it launched. It was really good for those nights where I didn't really have anything I wanted to play, but I still wanted to mess around on my 360. Not only that, this was a good way to fill up on useless trivia. I'm absolutely going to miss this!
Oh no !! What are the fanboys going to hold up as the reason they pay for Gold now ?
I never really got into this, mostly because I didn't know what it was about, and I always missed the days it was on. Can someone explain to me what it was?
wow... I really enjoyed 1 vs. 100... it was one of the only things I could do to get my ex to play my xbox with me... oh well now she's got.. it sucks that 1 vs 100 isn't coming back either.. crap
That really sucks I loved playing in that game, and came really close to winning a prize once.
i just just wondering the other day when it was going to be back. too bad
I was under the assumption that 1 vs 100 was a success for Xbox Live.
Why would they take away things that we like about Live and keep failing concepts alive? I'd take 1 vs 100 over Game Room any day.
Apparently, Microsoft had been working to gather data as to viewership for 1 vs 100 to try and get a piece of the television market on Live.
If true, 1 vs 100 is only the start of something big to come.
Dude why? This was awesome to play with friends trash talking to each other if they get it wrong. Why take away this when Game room is much more boring?
I agree, lockdown, the social part of it, using party chat and being able to trash-talk your friends if they got the question wrong, was one of the best parts of the game. I missed my share of questions... but I also ended up doing pretty well in Season 2, since I played it at almost every opportunity (including the "extended play", non-live shows).
I hope that they actually DEVELOP something based on their experiences here, and not just abandon the idea altogether. And if it comes out after November, do NOT make it require a Kinect. :-(
This sucks I was in Germany durning 1 vs 100 so I could never play due to my German ISP. Lame so vary lame
This sucks. It was actually pretty fun and the only game my parents played. (weep)
That's terrible. I loved 1 vs 100. My girlfriend and I would play that for so long. Going to really miss it
is this a bad thing?
whats 1 v 100?
1 vs 100 was great. Why did they take it off, it got tons of people playing it. It was just fun to play with friends and relax.
That sucks, it was fun for an avatar game...
WHY?! Me and my friends bought a ton of avatar clothes just so we'd look cool on 1 vs 100! Crap, I guess we'll go play Uno :(
