Is This Sakaguchi's Last Story?
The Final Fantasy creator says in his blog that he has the "strong" feeling that The Last Story – Mistwalker's game for the Wii – might be the end for him.
The developer is currently working on the Nintendo-published RPG, although the game doesn't have a U.S. release date at the moment. In his blog he says that everyone at Mistwalker is pouring "120 percent" into the game, and that he gets the strong feeling that this might be his last project.
Sakaguchi spent 15 years with Square on the Final Fantasy franchise before starting Mistwalker in 2004. Since then, despite the high-profile Xbox 360 RPGs Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, Sakaguchi and Mistwalker have yet to produce a bona fide hit.
