Killzone 3 Gets 4-Player Co-op

3D gaming isn't the only new feature in Killzone 3's bag of tricks – this time around you can shoot up stuff with a couple of friends, too. According to the latest episode of FirstPlay, a UK-only show that is available weekly via the PlayStation Store, Killzone 3 will feature "a special objective-based four-man co-op mode to go with the standard two-player stuff."

Although that's not a whole lot of information to go on, it's good news for co-op fans – especially if it turns out to be anything like Battlefield: Bad Company 2's recently-released Onslaught mode, which is also a four-player objective-based co-op mode. Whether Guerrilla Games has something more substantial in mind remains to be seen, but based on how aggressive the developer has been in pushing the PS3's hardware, we're looking forward to checking it out. We'll bring you more on Killzone's 3 multiplayer just as soon as we possibly can.

If they're going to put in split-screen they had better support separate profiles for each controller. They'd also better let me switch shooting to R2 for use with my Real Triggers. They'd also better give me a 3DTV. Yeah.

This game is one of the main reasons I want a PS3. Watching Jimmy Fallon go nuts for the 3D version was great. And now 4 player co-op? Co-op is good... in most games that is. Perhaps I'll get one with my financial aid money...?

When Plasma came out ppl said to expensive wont get it, eventually they got it, same with LCD AND LED........Trust me we will eventually buy one......................but CO OP 4 PLAYERS NICE!!!

Not surprised. Killzone 2 felt like it was made for co-op, but it got cut out for some reason. I assumed that they would bring it to KZ3.

honestly this should've been a standard in the shooter Genre since like 2008. But i guess Borderlands is what really brought it to the table what it meant to make a co-op experience that can also be single player. By having enemies get tougher for every player added made the experience seemless and I didn't feel as if I missed out on anything when I played offline.

Cools news still? Definitely, from what i understand the Killzone 2 campaign was very extensive and it looks like the a game that needed co-op campaign from the start. However its nothing to go OMG I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING!

I'll be looking forward to playing this at my friends until I get my own ps3
