One Game Stands Alone—Weekly Roundup 7/12

Expect a short interaction with your local game purveyor if you enjoy sidling up to the counter each week and saying, “Tell me everything that’s new.” NCAA Football 11 is it. Were other publishers afraid of going toe to toe with EA’s college football behemoth? Would they rather delay their products rather than get ignored in the ensuing media blitz that accompanies the latest release of this eagerly awaited series? Is this just a slow week? Yeah, that last one is probably it. Oh well. In other noteworthy releases, Christopher Nolan’s latest, Inception, hits theaters, alongside the latest Nic Cage flick. This one’s based on the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, but we haven’t seen any shots of brooms carrying buckets. Weird.
