The lights are on
You've seen our Dragon Age II cover art and read about the new protagonist Hawke, but now it's time to get a first glimpse of how the game looks in action. These exclusive hi-res screens of Dragon Age II showcase the new artistic direction for the game, depicting the new designs for darkspawn Hurlocks and Ogres. The team at BioWare is also aware that many gamers weren't satisfied with the graphical quality in Origins; Dragon Age II not only looks better, but sports a new artistic direction that gives the world of Thedas a more distinct visual identity.Click on the screens below to enlarge:

Can't wait!
The graphics look better from the first game, but still not top-notch. Hopefully this means they are sacrificing looks for content. I don't much care for the second picture. The two hurlocks look like some sort of ninjas, and the Orc doesn't even look like an Orc. ...Well, maybe its not even supposed to be an Orc, but whatever. I don't like its look.

Kinda' looks cartoony, with darkness added in. A lot.
Umm this is hi def?:/
still don't trust it... have to see some gameplay first.
What HAWKE has on its arm (1st photo) is BLOOD in real time, or a RED TATOO? Cause if it's the first, this time the blood will be more real, I think... it was one of DAO mistakes.
Looks alright. If the game keeps that level of quality through out, I would be impressed, as compared to the first title. But more importantly, will it keep a constant framerate this time?
They must optimize the graphics and framerate on PC and console versions, not like in DAO...
I think they might be showing this off too early.
This 14th we will know more about DA2, thanks to Gameinformer, but there's only one space left on her hub... does that mean that the exclusive will end so soon?
Hot!
Hot... and exciting.. but I expect more from the same company that did the GORGEOUS game series we know and love called Mass Effect. I was severely disappointed when Dragon Age and Mass Effect came out around the same time and yet looked almost years apart in graphic textures and rendering. They better do a huge facelift from these(hopefully alpha) screen shots. Really the actual lack of attention to graphic detail was my only complaint from the last game.
These graphics suck.
These look cool, but I thought they would go for a more cartoony look, like in the art work on the cover.
Does anybody else think that the first picture looks like a cooler version of He-Man one second away from taking Skeletor's head?
Btw, why the hell hasn't anyone revived that franchise for adults? If done right (ie, without the cheesiness from the cartoon when we were kids), the He-Man universe could make for a decent game... no?
But Prince Adam would have to be more of a nonchalant Bruce Wayne-type character. And Cringer would... have to, uh... be pretty much non-existent.
Graphics like these are a good sign, It means they are rebuilding the game from scratch. The models still have low resolution textures, no lighting, however the baseline for a good looking game is there. I am also happy about the initial look of the setting, it looks like we are going to get a different looking game. I am pleased.
On a side note, has anyone gotten their GI yet? Is the development still PC centric?
