Xbox Live Arcade Getting Another Facelift

Sometimes perusing the plethora of games in XBLA is messy. If you want to see everything you must search alphabetically, and even they you’re just reading game titles. What if I told you Microsoft is going to make it easier for you to find games your friends like, games that match what you like, and deals on games you might like?

Enter Destination Arcade, Xbox’s new, more convenient way to peruse downloadable games. This new, free app has a superior filtering system which can sort games by developer, price, user rating, etc. Xbox Live users can also rate games with their stamp of approval, allowing their buddies to know what’s great.  What's even better is that it's coming next week.

Creating a navigable experience for the Xbox Live Marketplace has been an uphill climb for Microsoft. First came the Xbox Blades, then the New Xbox Experience, and now Destination Arcade. Will the third time be the charm?

Check out the new look in the media gallery below.

  • Looks good. I'm a big fan of the Xbox Live Arcade, so I can't wait to try this out.

  • I like that look better than the one we've got now.

  • I don't ever buy games from Arcade but still this sounds like a good change

  • Looks awesome. And I definitely like how it'll suggest games similar to ones I like. Looking forward to it.

  • Awsome! now buying great games on XBLA will be even easier.

  • I like this, cause I hate the cartoon look of Xbox Live, and I hate the Avatar the most

  • Looks good, not that I download that much.

  • Looks awesome. When's it releasing?

  • i dont buy too many arcade games, so this is not important to me.  upgrade the dash to allow customization of things like the old one.  the same blue menu color is annoying.

  • Hmm, looks interesting... Now I just have to somehow obtain tons of MS points...

  • I've welcomed every upgrade to the Dashboard and navigation, and I'm sure this will be great as well.

  • Everything looks pretty clean now. Those colors and more should replace Xbox's navigations through-out the Dashboard.

  • cool. now i'll finally start to buy XBLA games.

  • awesome!cant wait for this.

  • Well the Blade System was great, NXE sucks, hopefully this will be good.

  • Looks cool. I just hope there's a way to get rid of channels. Most of my friends have a terrible taste in Arcade Games so I'd prefer to hide that.

  • I'm saving up for one of the xbox 360 slims. I hope to have one by September so I'm pretty exited about this.

  • Hmm.... now they are going to have to get the rest of the dashboard like that. Oh, and does anyone know if the Dashboard they showed with the Kinect at Microsoft's Press Confrence, is that going to be the official dashboard for the rest of us who don't have Kinect? Because if it isn't, I'm going to be really sad. I loved the way it looked. So simple to use.

  • Game room, the constant redesigns, the avatars..Yknow I'd be happy if MS would stop playing with gimmicks and shinies long enough to make a microphone headset that doesnt quit working after a month's use...

  • I'm not sure if I like this.
