LucasArts Loves Idea Of Super Star Wars On Xbox 360

by Matt Bertz on Jul 06, 2010 at 05:15 PM

In a recent interview with CVG, The Force Unleashed II executive producer Haden Blackman focused on LucasArts' plans to take the Star Wars franchise in bold new directions, but he he also mentioned the potential resurgence of the popular SNES Super Star Wars franchise.

"I would love to see a Super Star Wars on the Xbox 360," he said. The series emerged from its slumber on Nintendo's Virtual Console last year, but has yet to jump over to the other consoles.

"There are certainly some ideas we've kicked around [with the original trilogy] and we're always trying to capture the spirit of some of those big moments from the films," he stressed with one major caveat. "We're also interested - and this is something that comes from George [Lucas] - in taking Star Wars in new directions, not just always going back and rehashing what has been done before."

What do you say? Are you interested in replaying these games with a new coat of paint and perhaps a more forgiving save system?
