The lights are on
Raven Software's Singularity isn't getting the buzz it deserves. Along with Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake, and Red Dead: Redemption, Singularity is one of 2010's most memorable games. I don't often force games upon people, but you really do owe it to yourself to play it.
Raven Software's blog is detailing the creation of this fascinating game through developer diaries. Different members from the team are walking through key sections of the game, such as animating age-able objects. Most of these sections dive deep into the development process, and point out the struggles and discoveries made along the way. Videos and behind-the-scenes looks are included. This is definitely the next game i need to get.
Reiner, I couldn't agree with you more. Singularity is one of the best games of the year so far. I just can't figure out why Activision didn't do more to promote this one.
I agree, and I think it's time for me to get my copy asap..
Yep, contrary to popular belief Singularity is the TRUE sleeper hit of 2010, Transformers War for Cybertron is definitely the golden child of all Transformers games, but not the best game in itself.
this game was over way too fast. a fun ride through bioshock-like environments but scenery renders coulda been a lot better and story alot longer. all in all worth a play through for sure
I had this game on pre-order, but cancelled it when I didn't hear anything about it. I kind of regret that.
I don't see why someone would buy Singularity when you could get Timeshift for dirt cheap, it' a better game.
Singularity is definitely worth it. I just finished a second playthrough and may do a third. The only thing that sucks is that I don't have Live, so no MP for me :(
just got my copy a few days ago and im loving every second of it. and the MP is actually fairly decent when you can get a good server
I thought I'd skip this game but, if Reiner say it deserves a shot then I'll try it out. Thanks for the advice!
Very cool, saw some of the blogs and they were great.
Hopefully the game will come on GameFly here soon. Really looks fun and interesting concept.
I don't mean to say that this game doesn't look good... but I haven't seen a review for it yet. Games can look cool and have tons of stability pertaining to robust software and attention to detail but sometimes it doesn't always work. I've played plenty of games like that. I'll have to read a review or play a demo first. However, the game does look pretty neat.
Any game that is BioShock-ish has to be good, so I will definatly be getting this game sometime in the near future, I still have plenty of other games that I'm working on. The game definatly looks like it has a very engaging atmosphere, and you can't go wrong with that.
Yes, if you're reading this and don't have the game, at least rent it, asssuming that you'll get as hooked as I did you can beat it in 3-5 days and it really is an awesome game. Most unbelievable ending this year, totally didn't see it coming so worth the money.
Wolfenstein was one of my favorite single player FPS of last year and I am eagerly looking forward to this. Game don't have to do anything new, they simply have to done well in my opinion.
I bought Singularity and I am really glad I did. I am a completionist so I am taking my time reverting everything I can, adjusting every picture, opening every locker or chest. It is the sleeper hit of the summer for me at least. I don't see how anyone would not like the game as it is quite entertaining. On the plus side if anyone hasn't already played Prototype you can still get the mail-in game rebate with Singularity. You just have to pay $5 for the S&H. Singularity is not out to make a new genre but it does a great job of taking tried and true game mechanics from various games and mish-mashing them together to make a truly fun game. Why try and re-invent the wheel when you can make it better?
I really, really wish I could be a see-through watery guy thing.
I'll play thiss game for you. First, it's a rent. If it's as good as you say,(or better) I'll buy it.
After reading Reiner's review I went out and picked up. Sadly it's sitting on my coffee table while I sit at work. I managed to play for maybe an hour this morning. Atmosphere is the big word that comes to mind.
