Crackdown 2's Agent Surfaces In Perfect Dark
Crackdown 2 hits store shelves next week, and gamers who buy it will get a nice little bonus – assuming they've also bought Perfect Dark on Xbox Live Arcade. As a hidden easter egg, an agent from Crackdown will automatically become a playable character in Perfect Dark's multiplayer mode.
Here's the deal, according to Rare's site, "In a nutshell: buried within Perfect Dark XBLA is a playable character known as Agent 4. If you own PD, and you're planning to pick up Crackdown 2, this feisty black-suited gun nut will soon be under your command." Best of all, you don't need to do anything – no downloads or code redemption. As soon as Perfect Dark detects your Crackdown 2 save file, Agent 4 is unlocked.
Perfect Dark and Crackdown 2 may not seem naturally connected, but 4J (developer of the XBLA Perfect Dark port) and Ruffian (developer of Crackdown 2) are within walking distance of each other in Dundee, Scotland. I'm not just using a figure of speech, either; I literally walked to 4J's studio from Ruffian's when I was in Dundee for the Crackdown 2 cover last year.
