The lights are on
Like many E3 attendees, Epic Mickey designer Warren Spector had a chance to get his hands on the Nintendo 3DS...and he really liked it. In a post on his blog, Spector said "Nintendo got 3D right -- righter than anyone else. Ever. By far."
That's not the end of the praise. He continues:
"I was backstage at the Nintendo Press Conference on Tuesday, June 15th, and as each new 3DS feature was described, my jaw got closer and closer to the ground. It’s a game machine… it’s 3D… it has a gyroscope and accelerometer built in… It has Wi-Fi connectivity and shares data with other 3DS’s in the background… It has a 3D CAMERA!… and it PLAYS 3D MOVIES WITHOUT GLASSES!… I swear if they’d said it was a phone, too, I would have dashed back onto the stage and snatched the prototype and run like the wind! I half expected to hear it would tuck me in at night!"
Yep, Warren was so excited that he broke out the caps lock. For the sake of brevity, we'll let you check out the rest of the post for yourself, but he calls the 3D effect "basically perfect" and says that Nintendo "deserves to sell a gazillion of these things."

I agree with him. Nintendo absolutely knocked it out of the park with their E3 conference and the 3DS blew me away. I haven't even seen the real thing in action and I am already hyped to no end. I can not wait. The added horsepower (Have you seen that Resident Evil trailer!?!?) and the built in glasses free 3D is a win sandwhich with a side of win and a big cup of win.
3D movies?!?!? Yes Please!

not helping! i need one right now! i am taking my first vacation in 2 years, i deserve one!
Well I am officially sold. Time to save up a $1000 dollars for the 3DS and every other game, peripheral released on launch date.

i absolutely agree. it looks just plain awesome, and i CANNOT wait to get one.
at first I thought that 3d was just a cheap attempt to find a new angle on gaming, so I decided to ignore/talk bad about it.
after hearing all this hype from warren spector and...jimmy fallon *shiver* i'm thinking i might have to eat my words. now I really really hope 3d blows my mind too

Now I'm even MORE excited about the 3DS. Warren Spector is one of the industry's greats, and if he says it's good, then it has to be true! And I also like how there have been very few negative comments on the upcoming handheld XD.
Oh Warren Spector, you are great at what you do. As well, I did not believe "righter" was a word. Shows how much I know.
