Game From Spirited Away Studio Will Be On PS3 With Move Support

by Phil Kollar on Jun 23, 2010 at 12:50 PM

Ni no Kuni (aka The Another World) is an upcoming team-up between Level-5 and Studio Ghibli, the company behind such incredible animated films as Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and Howl's Moving Castle. In other words, it's pretty much guaranteed to look pretty and will probably be whimsical and moving. Originally this role-playing title was only announced for the DS, but a new Famitsu article reveals that it will also becoming to PlayStation 3 with support for Sony's new Move controllers.

Silicon Era reports on the Japanese magazine reveal, but there isn't much information. As far as we can tell, the DS version of the game is still in development, but it will also make it to PS3 some time after the original release. The DS version has main character Oliver casting spells by drawing on the touch screen. For the PS3, this will be accomplished using Sony's new Move controller.

Getting the chance to see some gorgeous Studio Ghibli visuals in HD and also having a use for the Move controller that I'm genuinely excited about makes this news a double win for me. Hopefully we'll receive more news (and a release date) soon.
