HBO Debuts Game of Thrones Teaser Trailer

by Matt Helgeson on Jun 19, 2010 at 07:12 AM

If you haven't read George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series, you're missing out on some of the best fantasy ever written. The series' first book, the complex and gripping A Game of Thrones, is being developed as a television series for HBO. On the one hand, we are excited because we think the book could make for amazing television. On the other hand, we're upset because this seems to be distracting Martin from his endlessly delayed A Dance With Dragons, the next book in the series. Seriously, George, you are killing us. That said, this trailer seems to suggest that this series is going to get off on the right foot.

The Song of Ice and Fire books are also being translated into video game form by upstart French developer Cyanide, a studio formed by several Ubisoft veterans. The company is apparently developing a pair of products based on the series, separate games in the RTS and RPG genres. Martin has confirmed this news in interviews.
