The lights are on
Remember that Heavy Rain DLC? Well, if you've been waiting for news about the upcoming second chapter in the episodic Heavy Rain Chronicles, you may want to brace yourself for some bad news. While checking out the Move version of Heavy Rain at Sony's booth, I had the chance to chat a bit with Quantic Dream's Guillame de Fondaumière, who had some interesting things to say about integrating Move controls (which you can read about here). However, among all the cool tidbits, there was the disappointing revelation that the Heavy Rain Chronicles DLC plans have been put on indefinite hold.
The first episode, entitled The Taxidermist, was given away to gamers who purchased the game new, though it was released for purchase later. The fate of the second announced episode, which was supposed to have featured the Origami Killer as the playable character, is now in doubt. According to de Fondaumière, Sony encouraged Quantic Dream to focus its efforts on the Move version of Heavy Rain instead of the DLC.While the DLC could potentially continue once Move has launched, de Fondaumière indicated that it is more likely that the studio will go forward with its next project -- which he, of course, wouldn't say a word about.

Well, this sucks.
Wow, Sony, way to go. Idiots.
bah, thats too bad. i still have to pick this game up, shame on me.
no. content is MUCH more important than how a game controls. Sony must have paid Quantum a good amount of money to get them to switch their direction. i haven't gotten Heavy Rain as of yet but this news is heartbreaking...
What a shame
if its omikron they can ditch heavy rain and i would be just fine with that.
Not cool at all!!!
Yeah, I'm thinking the list of games delayed and DLC delayed/cancelled as devs rush to add Move/Kinect functionality to everything is going to really make those POS gimmicks' releases a pain for the core crowd/ people too smart to be early adopters (pay to test products, riiiiiiiight).
that sucks screw the ps move more dlc
I will point to this story whenever any of my friends try to tell me that stupid motion-control gimmicks aren't detracting from "core games."
This is just one of what I'm sure will be many examples to come. Every month that an AAA developer like Quantic Dream is spending on motion gimmick games is a month that they're not spending on making the kind of AAA games that earned them such great reputations in the first place.
I second Enigmatic Ally's position:
It does suck.
Very close to need a spoiler alert with that picture and a mention of the Origami Killer in the article. Like, you're stand on the boarder between fine and ruining the game for people that haven't played it.
Aw, come on. They're going to focus on the Move and forget about the Heavy Rain DLC now?! Agh, what a load of crap.
Screw you, Sony.
The promise of future DLC was one of the reasons I picked up this game as I didn't feel the original storyline would support multiple playthroughs. :(
I just picked this up yesterday. Kinda bummed out about this, but does anyone know if they're still giving the taxidermist away since i bought it new?
