GoldenEye Is Back! New Bond Shooter For Wii

Goldeneye helped put multiplayer FPS on the map for console gamers back in the day, and Reggie Fils-Aime shocked the assembled crowd at the Nintendo press conference with news that an all-new GoldenEye title will be hitting the Wii this holiday season. The game stars the virtual likeness of current James Bond actor Daniel Craig, and will feature the beloved four-player, split-screen action of the original. It will also feature eight classic Bond villains like Oddjob and Lockjaw. The game is published by Activision. Get your trigger finger ready, because the original console shooter is back for more.

  • I may actually buy this...If I had another controler

  • I would have expected the graphics to get a bit better than they have in 13 years lol.

Kinda sad see someone other than Pierce Brosnan in a Goldeneye game though. If it doesn't play terribly, I may consider picking it up.

  • Remake or new game?

Also, split-screen? It'll be the only title on the Wii that does that (exaggeration).

  • woo got to love those 64 graphics. *jk* graphics are really 64 graphics all over again.

  • but it's not rare ware it's activision and no Pierce Brosnan . As soon as they said activision I lost interest

  • w00t!

  • OH man that was sick!

  • This actually looks great.

  • Sigh.

For the 1st time ever I'm actually tempted to buy a Wii.

  • Goldeneye was one of the games that pushed the FPS genre

  • Hells yeah! Nintendo just knocked their E3 conference out of the park. The best in years. So many awesome announcements. Man, I never thought I would be praising Nintendo for an awesome E3 conference....but they pulled it off and really pulled the rug out from under me.

Microsoft spent all their time on kiddie crap that no hardcore gamer would be caught dead playing and Nintendo wen't the opposite way.

  • When they announced it, I was stoked, but once they started showing it, I can't say I was too impressed. It seems like it's just gonna be a subpar Bond game and they're just trying to cash in on the Goldeneye name. I guess we'll know more in six months, but I'm not too optimistic.

  • this is actually pretty cool! i think i might bu-

    "Exclusively on the Wii"

pass. i really wanted it for the XBLA/PSN for online multiplayer support and we all know Wii lacks that. but i may just get it for the nostalgia factor and play it with some of my cousins. first i need a Wii.
  • Wait, is it being published by EA or by Activision? Cus the live feed said it was being published by Activision.

  • I didn't see the LIVE feed, so I'm not sure about the graphics. But this might be worth picking up...maybe.

  • Oh yes......Wait, ACTIVISION!!!!! OH HELL NO.

The only thing added to this game better be updated graphics and better cutscenes. I don't trust Activision at ALL though. We'll definatly see.

  • So this is what they did with Goldeneye...out it on the Wii so the controls will be crap and the gameplay terrible release it on xbox arcade or something!

  • Sweet!!!  It looked really cool too :)

  • The game looks awesome, but im not sure if it well do as well as the original

  • good news
