Getting Philosophical With The Sims 3

by Joe Juba on Jun 14, 2010 at 12:18 PM

The Sims 3 isn't exactly new, with the PC version already seeing two expansion packs. The game will finally be coming to consoles later this year, however, so The Sims still had a place at EA's annual press conference.

Instead of focusing on the nitty-gritty details of the console versions, Rod Humble of EA's Sims Division discussed more about his vision for the future of the Sims. He talked about the different ways people play the game, and even showed off his own creations (including a sim version of BioWare's Ray Muzyka and a town full of Rod Humbles).

The segment wasn't exactly full of info, but for those of us who are huge sims fans, it's great to see the franchise in the hands of someone who thinks about the the gameplay in such an interesting way. Humble concluded by describing the Sims Studio's goal to grow the Sims as a franchise in the coming years, expanding through "theme, time, and space."
