The lights are on
Retailers are preparing to drop the price on existing 360 units to make way for the new Xbox 360 Slim that was announced today. The Elite's price will be cut from $299 to $249, and the Arcade is dropping from $199 to $149. The new Xbox units will retail for $299, but feature a larger 250 GB hard drive and integrated wi-fi capabilities. Still, it's a good deal for bargain conscious gamers.

Dang, $300 for a 360 slim? Looks like i'm not getting one for a while.
It's a little too late for the drop, I already payed $300 for my Elite.
Very reasonable price for the arcade.
I would like to have this new Slim 360. I think with the 250G hard drive and wi-fi built in it's a good price.
I wonder if we could get some kind of trade in value for our old 360s if we upgrade to the slim?
How much would a used leafblower 360 cost then? 200? 180?
Id love to own a 360 in addition to my ps3 but dont want to pay over $200 for it. I know a few friends that would def buy one if you could get it for 150-200 this holiday season.
The low price point might be the best way into the casual game market for microsoft, but those same people would not spend an extra $150 on top of that to play newer versions of wii games that natal is offering

600 for both slim systems, I may have to save but that's a good thing to wish for.

Even with the discount I'd rather get the new Slim.
microsoft just feels like copying people right now. PS3 get slim. Microsoft copies them. Wii gets motion sensing stuff. few years later microsoft announces its motion sensing thing. ugh. microsoft can't think of anything to do on its own.

How is $300 dollar bad? It's as much as the Elite was, but it has wifi and is smaller. I guess I don't understand your reasoning.
If it supplied me with cold draft beer, I would feel justified replacing my perfectly good xbox...but, it doesn't.
