The lights are on
In this week's episode of Replay, I refer to Rare's Xbox-era beat-em-up Grabbed by the Ghoulies as a "classic" on several occasions. My love of Rare aside, let it be known that Grabbed by the Ghoulies is not, in reality, a classic. What went wrong with Rare's first game for Microsoft? Andrew Reiner, Dan Ryckert, and Tim Turi join me to find out.
Watch the full episode below and then head on over to the Replay hub to view all our past Replays.

Mister Phillip Kollar! what are you doing up at this hour?! this was the most absurd video I could have run into right now,... because now I'm going to get even less sleep, oh well it should be worth it!
Seriously, guys, give us Armored Core.
this was very funny, I couldn't breath after this replay. Do ratchet and clank for a good game replay and spyro enter the dragonfly or batman dark tomorrow for bad replay
I laughed. Ass play ftw
For a game that Rare wanted simple, Grabbed by the Ghoulies sure had alot of text. Classic mediocrity and rear-end playing lol.
Awesome replay.
Really funny as always!
I think I remember this... I hated that game! I gave it to my friend for his birthday to get it away.
Where's the super replay?
That was great!
Glad to see GI is inventing great new ways to play video games!
@Colby aka Turd Ferguson: Is your friend still friends with you?
that was almost as entertaining as an episode of friends.
Jinjo, not Jingo. And yeah, Rare's acquisition was expensive for Microsoft. If I remember right the price was $370,000,000.
You guys are so weird... But that's why you're my favorite gaming magazine/website. XD
I wanted this game so bad when I was little. I thought it looked great. Guess not so much in hindsight.
Two sub par games there. Well done.
great replay sound quality for the game was better waiting for a replay of the original syphon filter
@Ryan: HA! You just made a VERY GOOD guess as to one of the Replays we have coming up. Nicely done.
@Nick: We've actually figured out some stuff about how we capture the game footage that should be improving the sound quality of the games greatly over the next couple weeks.
Yeah, you guys should replay Rise to Honor just to show off all the glitchy brawling it had, and all of the missed opportunities it presented while still managing to be somewhat like a Jet Li movie.
I'm also requesting a replay of Dragon Rage for the PS2, because dragon flying combat is so rare these days.
