Devil's Third Revealed As Itagaki's New Game

If there's one thing Ninja Gaiden and Dead Or Alive designer Tomonobu Itagaki is known for, it's modest, understated gaming experiences. From the beach ball-sized breasts of every female character in his games to Ryu Hayabusa's dismemberment-filled adventures, he's never been one for flash. That's why it's so surprising to see his new game filled with so many explosions, swords, and wall-running gunfights.

Sarcasm aside, Devil's Third appears to fall right in line with what gamers expect from Itagaki. It's loud, chaotic, and looks to be incredibly violent. Check out the debut trailer below.

  • Every aspect of this game reminds me of Wet. Except it looks better, of course.

  • perty cool

  • looks fun always a good thing from a game

  • HOLY... WOW!  That was totally awesome!

Tecmo really messed up when they let Itagaki go.

  • Best music to content mix ever.

  • This will be bitchin' game.

  • hmmmm. interesting...

  • double post
  • Yay!! A ninja game!! Looks pretty sweet right now.

  • Swords, guns, and blood, what's not to love? Hopefully Itagaki can streamline the combat enough to pull off crazy combo's, switching between swords, guns, and melee (a la Devil May Cry) without a hitch. As someone else stated, the music fit the trailer superbly.

  • Itagaki's games can do wrong. Ninja Gaiden and DoA were excellent franchises! this is a day one buy for me! can't wait to see more next week!

  • The end of Beethoven's Fifth! I played that song way back in my high school orchestra days!

  • future tenchu? lol. it looks rad

  • That first sentence made me do a double take, I wasn't sure if I had misread the title or what...

This trailer looks amazing. Like those above me said, good music choice. I hope we can pull all this off in-game.

  • THQ? Don't like the sound of that

  • This seems a lot like Wet, as a previous commentor as already posted.  Hopefully it will fare better than that game though.  Trailer was pretty sweet though.

  • That looks neat, apint the city in blood.. Looks like there gonna be a few differnt character to play, and probable with different story mode's depending on who you choose... Though I could be wrong, I'm just gonna need t see a little more in the future......

  • Looks like Wet and Devil May Cry had an overglorified baby.

  • I fully support Valhalla, Platinum*, etc. for going independent & keeping true Japanese art gaming alive (always better than western). My only hope is that Devil's Third features more varied environments other than generic bland cityscapes. I was hoping for more fantasy/sci-fi. & the more heavy Japanese stylization the better (don't go western on us Valhalla). My other request: an ACTUAL VERY EASY MODE (I play for the experience, not any sort of challenge) & 60 fps please. Cheers Valhalla!....
