The lights are on
2K Sports has sent along some photos of Snoop Dogg in a mo-cap suit for NBA 2K11. But does he belong in the game?
Developer Visual Concepts NBA 2K series has always prided itself on trying to deliver a sim experience. Now with news that Snoop Dogg is going to be in the game – courtesy of some mo-cap session shots tweeted from 2K Sports' – are things changing? It was one thing to have Michael Jordan as the cover star of your game, but Snoop? What is this, NBA Jam all of a sudden?
While we do not doubt that NBA 2K11 will deliver the same sim-style gameplay it always has, you have to wonder if Snoop is just the tip of the iceberg. Is this just a funny add-on to an otherwise serious franchise, or is the series trying to appeal to a different audience?

will he have gun?
@ duck. no its more likeley he'd have a blunt. lol
I think he'll most likely be a sideline reporter, a sideline fan, or halftime entertainment. I doubt he's going to be a playable basketball character in the game.
Redman was in a 2K Basketball game before. Whats the big deal, they probably used a Snoop Dogg song!!
I wanna use snoop to dunk on lebron
Please don't be an arcadey piece of *** dunkfest like Live....ahem, ELITE.
Gameinformer is Racist.
well he needs money
Where'd the baseless racism claim come from? Nothing in that article is even remotely racist. What? You think because they feel a rapper has no business being playable in a basketball game that that constitutes racism? Go to webstersdictionary.com, look up the term "racism", and then come back here.
As for Snoop being in the game...other than the fact he really hasn't made a decent album since he left Death Row, yeah, he doesn't belong as a playable character. It's the NBA, not the NWA.
hes probably gonna be an unlockable character that was put in there as a cool addition.
If he's used as an entertainer or anything but a player I'll be happy.
Hope he is not in it.
Question? will Snoop get his own squad or cheerleaders?
Of course he's not going to be playable, they ALWAYS motion capture for not playable characters....don't they?
I like unlockable characters in video games, especially ones that aren't apart of the genre! I don't think adding Snoop to the game hurts the franchise. Out of all the rappers out there, he's probably the most liked one. Plus he's a real big NBA fan and has played almost every 2K Sports title, so I can see why 2K went with Snoop Dogg. I hope there's a lot of new unlockable characters to play with.
More than likely he will be on useable on the Blacktop. The Cool Kids were in there last year I believe. Maybe the year before.
@Hunter I buy 2k over live, but you can't call out Live for being a dunkfest when comapred to 2k. That's how most points were scored in that game because of all the wonky animations. Live was actually more sim out of the box than 2k, but they broke that with their 2 patches. Neither of the games were very good in the long run. 2k has run themselves into the ground with animations and Live lacked depth. We will see what happens this year though.
Will that must be where all the NBA players are gettin their weed...
let the people that play or have played in the NBA be in NBA2k11
