THQ Reveals Red Faction: Armageddon With Trailer

by Ben Reeves on Jun 07, 2010 at 11:11 AM

Some of us like building sand castles and some of us like kicking them down. For the latter there is Volition’s Red Faction series. Last year's Red Faction: Guerrilla gave gamers a planet-sized sandbox to roam around in as they tore down every building on Mars' surface, but it couldn’t quench our thirst for destruction forever, which is why we’re glad THQ and Volition have announced that Red Faction: Armageddon will be headed to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC early next year.

Armageddon takes place 50 years after the last game. Planet side conflict has pushed the resistance movement underground, literally, as colonist take shelter in a cavern of underground mines. Sounds like players will get to see a variety of new environments as the action will take place through ice caves and lava flows and a new alien threat emerges to cause some havoc.

The trailer has a distinct Dead Space feel, but that’s not a bad thing by any means. Check out the trailer and screens below.
