Harmonix Working On Natal Dance Game?

Developer Harmonix is already working on Rock Band 3, but we've heard that there's another project in the pipeline.

Recently, word got out that Harmonix plans to use keyboards for Rock Band 3, but we've also heard that the developer has an entirely separate Natal game based entirely around dancing. Whether Harmonix is also working with PlayStation's Move motion controller is unknown. Previously, it's been noted that Harmonix has licensed dance songs that would seem out of place in the Rock Band series, and this new dance title would seem to be the reason why.

Given the saturation of rock-based music games out there, as well as the frightening popularity of Just Dance for the Wii, a dance game from Harmonix is no surprise.

  • yay! another game i wouldn't buy even if it was free!

  • Lame-o!

  • You have to be kidding me. Right? right?....darn it.

  • wow........this makes me sick

  • Yes. Natal and Move are going to revolutionize gaming... FOR 12 YEAR OLD GIRLS!!!

  • Yea I agree with everyone else, no thanks.

  • Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.

  • ...and with this announcement, Harmonix stock has dropped 40 points.

  • Yea because that's exactly what I want to do....dance around in front of my television like a fool. Shame on you Harmonix.

  • Mod

This could be pretty interesting. I've tried Just Dance at Pax with friends and it was pretty entertaining, and if it is able to pull of the same competitive draw that DDR has then everything points to being a fun game.

And if anyone is going to make something solid out of a simplistic genre, they would be the one to do it.

  • o great now harmonix is falling into the casual gaming genre. I still think games like just dance make you look like an idiot in front of your tv

  • I think most of the people commenting are failing to understand that if this game exists, it could be a game targeted at people other than you...and that's okay. Also, to say that dancing in front of your TV makes you look stupid while simultaneously pretending that playing a plastic guitar in front of your TV doesn't look stupid is silly.

  • I'd buy it for my friends and force them to play it while I filem them for Youtube.

  • cool their doing the same thing nintendo is doing

  • I don't like this, but as long as Rock Band 3 lives up to the hype then who cares. I don't have to buy it. It will be a while before Natal brings anything more than gimmicky games.

  • Wow, this is going to sell like crack (if this comes to fruition), I see some of the previous commentators don't realize what's current outside of the video game world.  Turn on a TV, and all you hear about is "Glee", "Dancing With The Stars", "So You Think You Can Dance", and "Americas Best Dance Crew"....did I leave anything out?

*sigh* but yeah, not for me, just as with Rockband and Guitar Hero

  • @Phil

I know there's a target audience specifically for something like this but it's just so much more fun to hate on it.

  • wow...lame.

  • I say what is the harm of looking silly in front of your TV? I aggree with Phill Kollar that pretending to play a plastic guitar in front of your TV could be see being just as silly as dancing in front.

I see this game being played while having people over enjoying some cold beverages.

  • its games like these that make people who think Natal will be revolutionary, look crazy.
