Update: Black and White's official website is now available in English. It includes images of the new legendary Pokémon. What do you think?

We've gotten tidbits of game information via the Japanese official website for Pokémon Black and White that excited us folks here in the states, but still had no word on a possible North American release...until now.

Today Nintendo has announced that the two upcoming fifth-gen Pokémon titles will release in North America spring 2011.

“Pokémon is a true worldwide franchise with legions of fans in every corner of the globe,” said Nintendo's Cammie Dunaway. “We know these fans will be thrilled to discover this new generation of Pokémon next year.”

The legendary Pokémon that will grace the worldwide box covers are Reshiram on Black and Zekrom on White. What do you think of their design?

HeartGold and SoulSilver have sold more than 8.4 million units to date worldwide, contributing to the 200 million Pokémon games sold since the franchise launched almost 15 years ago. Do you think Black and White will meet the same success?
