Sledgehammer Expanding Call Of Duty Franchise

by Matt Bertz on May 27, 2010 at 06:35 AM

Unless Sledgehammer Games is lying to its future employees, the studio founded by Dead Space creator Glen Schofield is working on a new game in the Call of Duty franchise. As reported by Develop, a job listing on the studio's website says "We're looking for the best and the brightest to join us, as we develop an action title in the Call of Duty franchise."

Given Schofield's development background as an innovator at Visceral Games, the game will probably be a departure in tone from the Infinity Ward and Treyarch installments in the series. I have a hard time believing Schofield and co-founder Michael Condrey left EA to become a cog in the Activision wheel that churns out copycat versions of the hit shooter. So what do you think is up their sleeves? My money's on a war-based horror game in Vietnam.
