Natal To Release This Fall For More Than $100?

by Annette Gonzalez on May 26, 2010 at 09:20 AM

The rumor mill is in full swing as we get closer to E3. This one concerns the one peripheral that's gotten the least amount of limelight as it saves all major reveals for an E3 event: Natal. In the latest string of rumors, the device will release in October at a price point of $149.

At $149 this would make Natal cost more than the PlayStation Move's starter kit, which will reportedly cost less than $100. According to Edge, the camera will also bundle with the Xbox 360 Arcade console for $299. Prices outside the U.S. will vary based on exchange rates.

Though the date revealed by Edge's source is set for an October 26 worldwide launch, they were told the date is subject to change. The name "Natal" will change as well.

Finally, the source says Microsoft expects to sell millions of units during the first year and says we can expect the launch line-up of games to hit the casual market.

Again this is all speculation, and we won't know all the true details until E3 next month. However, if this becomes announced as the actual price, would you pay $149 for the motion-based controller?
